Well,
now for the fun.
You have selected your car and now you want to play.
Click on the Play Game in the Pre-Race screen.
When
you click on the play game you will go through the GTR loading screens and
be presented with a further series of options, which display at the top.
In
this screen you will have a rotating image of your selected car.
You may "grab" it with your cursor and change the view angle.
Once
you have selected your race mode click on the check icon at the bottom of
your screen.
Your
next screen will give you more options. From left to right they are
Quit
the game
In
Game Controller options.
This
will show a map of the circuit
If you are hosting this option CHANGES the track. The map option is
not available.
This
shows track length, lap record, and 100% race length as well as your
experience and best lap time.
Get
used to this option, you will be using it often.
This
advances the session clock.
This
will advance the game through the sessions which are:
Practice 1 to 4
Qualifying
Warm up
Race
Session options can be configured in the
championship mode.
Click
this to get in your car to drive.
You will start off in your car in your pit paddock.
Lets
go to the vehicle setup screens. Click on the car icon
When
you get into this screen you will see
This screen is for very coarse settings. My advice is to ignore it and
click on the wrench icon to get into the advanced settings
Once you go into the advanced settings the sliders change to show the
settings are custom.
In
the advanced options you have 3 different screens.
Screen 1 is notes and is selected using the clipboard icon on the bottom
far left of your screen.
Note that the CURRENT SETUP does not have a name and there is a *.
This will change once you save your setup. The star will appear every time
you make a change and stay until you save the setup.
Screen
2 is strategy, (pit options, fuel load), gearing and brake settings.
Click on the gears to open this screen.
As there are a lot of options to set in this screen it will be covered in
depth HERE
The
last screen in this series is suspension and aero (wings)
Again there are a lot of options to configure and this screen will be
discussed HERE
Once
you have changed the settings you will want to save them.
To do this put your cursor on the file folder icon on the right and click
This will give you another screen
The folders portion represents the tracks, the files
your saved setups.
Next
click on the floppy icon far left. This will bring up the save option.
Notice
that I have typed the car model (996) the track (Valencia) and
"race".
I added "race" to differentiate this car from one I might set up
to use in qualifying.
Click
on the
and your file is saved.
PRE-MADE
SETUPS by Doug Armo
If you scroll up in the "Folders" you will
see:
The
top folder contains a lot of Doug's car setups.
Scroll down until you find the setup that corresponds to
your car and, if available the track. In my case I am running the Viper on
France but the closest I can come is Viper for Monza.
When you select the car, you will need to load it.
Select the "Load" Icon bottom left.
Once
you select the pre made setup you will need to save it to the track folder
you are currently on.
In this session I am on France so I will select
Once I do that I have to again go to the bottom of the
screen and click on the "Save" icon. Accept
the default
This will put the car setup into the France folder.
This process must be repeated every time you want to
load a car from another track.
When
you do further changes, repeat the save process.
You will again be presented with the save file option
and may either enter an new name or leave it the same. If you leave it the
same you will be asked if you want to over write the file.
You
may accept his or use the back arrow to return to the name file screen
If
you accept you will be in your car and ready to drive out of your pit. The
crew member will point the correct way
